Lapwai is the main headquarters for the Nez Perce Indians. It is
nestled in a beautiful valley just south of the Clearwater River and
the Spalding Missionary site. The population is 970 and at an
elevation of 970, Lapwai has a mild climate. A café and
automotive services are available. Stop at the Spalding Historical
Museum or the Tribe headquarters for information.
